When I Was A Child I Spoke Like A Child

I listened to a sermon on TBN that really helped me to better understand 1 Corinthians 13:1, 'When I was a child; I spake as a child, I understood as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things'. We all have an inner child in us, our own system and way of doing things, perceiving things and interpreting things. Unless we have already taken the journey to inner maturity and adulthood we are dealing with an adult life with the understanding of a child. Just because that's the way your mama and daddy always done things doesn't mean that it is right. The more we study the word of God and apply it to our lives and let go of the past and mindsets from the past that are against God's will and desire for us we are going to be trying to do eleventh grade English with the understanding of a third grader so to speak. We can't see or understand because we haven't learned or matured enough yet. The definition of being mature (having attained a final or desired state) is the quality or state of being mature:full development. Often we see adults with the behavior of a child because even though they developed and matured physically they didn't mentally or emotionally. We have to mature spiritually too but we will get to that in a minute. In order for us to mature emotionally and mentally we have to learn the right mindset, the Christlike mind. That doesn't happen over night. It is a process of learning God's word and applying it to our life. To accept his word and apply it to our life we have to let go of the old way of doing things and reach for his way of doing things. Often, we have to do this by continually bringing our mind back to Christlike thoughts. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Where do we find things that are true, just, pure, lovely, good report, virtuous and praiseworthy? In the word of God. Jesus spoke to God in John 17:17 "Sanctify them (believers) through thy truth: thy word is truth." Galatians 3:11 'Now it is evident that no one is justified through the law (the 10 commandments), for "The righteous (believers) shall live by faith."' Matthew 5:8 'Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.' Psalm 84:1 'How lovely is your dwelling place, LORD Almighty!' Hebrews 11:2 'For by it the elders obtained a good report.' Proverbs 31:10 'Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.' Ephesians 5:20 'always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ:' These are just a few verses that we can think on. God's word also says to rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. I find it easier to pray continually throughout the day by speaking in tongues. This is available to you. Mark 16:17 'And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;'. None of us has it all together. As long as we remain in this world we will not be perfect. We will make mistakes. We will sin unintentionally. But we can control how hard or easy it is for us to live a life that we think is appropriate as a child of God considering that Jesus gave his life for us and we are made new in him; read God's word often. Try to start and end your days by reading a verse or more and praying every morning and night asking for guidance. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are filled with the holy ghost. The holy ghost is our teacher and teaches us God's ways. We are just supposed to live one day at a time and that is today not yesterday or tomorrow. When we do these things we mature spiritually naturally. God watches over us and knows us and he will shape and mold us if we let him. The more you saturate your mind and life with God's word the easier and faster you will grow and develop into a confident man or woman of God. He Knows

He was born king yet the only crown he was given was made of thorns. He came to save the world yet he was treated like he was a poser. He was bruised and beaten so we can be healed yet we keep speaking sickness and death over our lives. He gave his life so that we can be forgiven of our sins yet we brush the truth aside and keep trying to get forgiveness by our own merit. How many will truly believe and partake of his riches in glory? How many will accept what he has given to us and live in the new city that he has gone to prepare for us? Jesus, thank you for being my Lord, Savior, Healer,Redeemer, King, and Friend. I accept your forgiveness and healing and I hope and look for the day you will return to take me home. Amen. Lisa C.

Use Me Lord, I Surrender All

He gives us strength and courage. He fills us with desire to do his will, to share his word with others and win as many people to Christ as possible before that glorious family reunion in the sky. He is our leader and our keeper. He directs our path's and makes our way straight. We need not look to the left nor to the right because he is in front of us making the way. He is our provider, a conqueror, our friend. I put my trust in him. Amen. I shout it from the rooftops and whisper it in my prayers which he hears. He fills my heart with gladness. My days are joyful in the midst of life's storms. He is my everything, my sister, my brother, my husband, my mother, my daddy, my grandparents. He is everything and everyone to me. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. The Lord blesses and the Lord curses. The Lord will never leave me nor forsake me. He is my fortress. Under his wings I hide and I am protected and when I make my voice heard to his cause his arms of protection envelop me and I am protected. Make known His Word.

Time

I have just spent the last 4 hours writing an article, typing it and sharing it to my blog at http://godislove373.blogspot.com/. I wrote an article that God laid on my heart to write almost a week ago.. I need to start being a better steward of the gift that God has given to me and write every time God lays something on my heart. So many times I have missed out on an opportunity to write to share God's love because I have been too busy (not taken the time even if I had to stay up at night) to write.

I Can Not Imagine But I Believe (Shared from God Is Love)

It is unfathomable to me what Jesus went through when he was beaten and crucified. I have read about it in The Word of God, the Holy Bible. I have heard it taught on and preached on. I have seen movies about it but even the movie The Passion can not depict the gruesomeness of what Jesus Christ went through for us.

A scourging was meant to do great physical damage to a person's body and to demean and humiliate the person who was being scourged. A Roman scourging was usually done by two Roman soldiers and they would alternate lashes. We know from the written Word that Jesus was whipped thirty-nine times.  Roman soldiers used different types of whips. Roman whips were made to cut into the flesh and to rip flesh from the body. A Roman scourging was considered a slow death that occurred over a period of two to three days due to blood loss and infection that would set in.  A crown of thorns was pressed into his flesh. Stakes were nailed through his hands and feet. People who were crucified eventually died from exhaustion and asphyxiation.

Christ died because he gave up the Holy Ghost. It was finished. It was done. He finished what he came into the world to do. I can not imagine what Jesus went through or how badly he suffered but I know that he did it. Jesus did not come into the world to condemn the world but to save and to heal everyone who believes on him.

Jesus suffered worse than anyone has ever suffered or ever will so that when we believe on him we are cleansed from sin, sickness and disease.  He took all of our sin on himself. He took all of our sickness and disease on himself. He didn't take part of it because we made a mistake or sinned or made a bad decision or was born into a family that has a certain disease that is passed through the bloodline. He took it all on himself and died for us while we were dead in sin that we will have eternal life. Then after being the atoning sacrifice for our sins he returned to the Father and asked the Father to send to us another advocate to help us and be with us forever, the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit.

When we allow our conscience or wrong thinking patterns to hinder us from receiving healing and enjoying peace and joy then that is our bad. That is our mistake. We make mistakes. Our flesh is sin. We have to keep putting ourselves back in line. We have to work on putting on the mind of Christ and living an acceptable way for the one who suffered and died for us. Every day we have to work at living and breathing the word of God so that it becomes natural to us but we will have a war going on inside of us until Christ returns for us because we are flesh and we are spirit. The Spirit is life.We have to change our thinking patterns so that our way of thinking lines up with the Word of God. Jesus did not halfway do anything. And what he has done is done. It is up to us to accept his forgiveness and it is up to us to accept and claim our healing.

Study the word of God and learn the promises that he has made to us. God never changes and the Word never changes. Accept the holy spirit and be born again into the family of Christ and allow the holy spirit to lead you, guide you and teach you. And very importantly in receiving God's promises, speak God's Word over you life and the lives of your loved ones. Your words either speak death or life into your life. It us up to you to control your thinking and the words that come out of your mouth and what you speak into your life. God bless you.

Fasting

Even if you have only a few hours dedicate your time and fasting to God and get some alone time with him in the word and prayer and praise. We are almost constantly bombarded with worldly things and negatives and problems but how we spend our free time is our choice. When you make the decision to focus on God and worshipping and praising him and thanking him and give yourself the time to reinforce your mind and heart with positives and promises and faith you are giving yourself the ability to deal with the worldly stuff and negatives. You can fast by not eating during this time or not drinking your favourite soda or whatever. Just everything you do do it unto the Lord. I love everyone.

The Hard Times

How we deal with the hard times is just as important as believing in God's love and willingness to help us. During times in our life when we feel broken we may find ourselves battling old thinking patterns. When we are emotionally and mentally challenged to hold it together our old thinking patterns may pop up and tell us that we need a cigarette, we need a drink, we need whatever it is that person used for a crutch before he or she learned to have faith in God Almighty.

God will not only supernaturally take care of life's problems he will give us strength, empower us, lift us up, give us peace that is beyond all understanding. When you can stand peacefully in a storm solid in your faith you have reached a level of faith that will allow you to operate in the holy spirit and manifest the fruit of the spirit in your life. You see God's power, see him at work. I have found that sometimes I only need to tell myself no and at other times I have to bury myself in God's word.

I have also seen times when after being mentally and emotionally barraged for a long time I felt spiritually and mentally weak. I felt as though I was so spiritually weak, dumbfounded even at how difficult it was becoming to remain the strong one, positive and centered and holding it together for everyone else. At those times in my life I find it necessary to separate myself from the source of heart ache but often that isn't possible. Sometimes just finding a little time to be alone with the Lord and fellowship with him is like trying to find water in a desert. I have learned that stealing five minutes here or 20 minutes there is the only time I have to lock and reload. But it is possible and it is all I need to release God's power in my life. Prayer, worship and praise are powerful tools of faith.

During the difficult times in life we sometimes have to cling to the little ammunition we have against the world  but it is enough. In many battles in the word we read that someone had to be obedient to God and often they had to allow God to be the chief of staff but they always won the battle even when all the odds were against them. In the word we find battles where angels fought beside men, and one angel killed 185,000 of the enemy army in one night while soldiers slept, and so much more. We can't see with the naked eye what goes on in the battlefield of our life but I am convinced that angels are fighting for us, beside us and instead of us.

We have to empower ourselves with truths from the word of God. When you believe in God's amazing love and power and see things on a larger scale instead of allowing yourself to be buried under one mountain you will see things and situations change all around you. Trust in God's power and strength not your own.

Much

I have been thinking about a passage of scripture.

Acts  18:9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:  18:10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

The apostle Paul was able to remain in Corinth for another year and a half teaching the word of God without fear because God told Paul, "Be not afraid, but speak, do not be quiet: for I am with you, and no man shall be able to hurt you; for I have much people in this city".

I wonder, how many people does God have in the city that we live in? Why are we quiet? What do we have to fear? Death? Dismemberment? Prison?

How many of us touch and connect because we are God's people? How many of us reach out to our neighbor? How many of us help others?

Do I obey the spirit? Am I listening? Am I hearing? Are you listening?

What do you want me to do Lord?

Time

I have come to realize that my time is best put to use praising my heavenly father, studying the word of God and speaking in tongues. When I spend my time in his presence and worshipping him the problems of this world melt away. Nothing is more powerful than God.

There were times when I suffered from fibromyalgia or cervical pain that as I sang praises to him or sat writing articles to spread his word that I felt completely well afterwards. There is power in speaking God's word and praising God. Bring the power into your life. Allow God to change your health, finances and relationships by praising him instead of worrying.

When you feel anxious, praise him. When you feel burdened, praise him. When you feel tired and sick, praise him. Take time each day to read the Holy Bible out loud and to sing praises and hymns to him for at least twenty minutes a day and you will see what kind of difference it will make in your life.
