Battered But Not Beaten

I heard them come in. It was the middle of the night. My ex-husband and his brother had been only Jehovah knows where doing only Jehovah knows what. I peacefully drifted back to sleep comforted by Jehovah's promises to never leave me nor forsake me. No matter what happened Jehovah was my strength. I awakened to being hit in the mouth by my ex-husband. I could taste the blood as I pleaed, "What is wrong with you? Why did you hit me?" His reply was, "What are you doing in the bed asleep?" I said, "It is the middle of the night. The children and I went to bed hours ago? What are you doing?" Little of what he did made sense. He would drink so excessively and pee in the cabinets and the corners of a room. When I complained his reply was, "I ain't peed in the cabinet or I ain't peed in the floor." He never took ownership of what he did when he was drinking. He never took ownership of what he did that I didn't like. He always denied it. It seemed like if I saw him put on red underwear and he wanted me to believe they were yellow he would argue me down that they were yellow. I tried him one night though. I held one of his expensive cowboy boots in my hand and brought it towards his stream of urine and he stopped urinating. So he did know. He knew that he was peeing in by kitchen cabinet. This man who did such ungodly and hurtful things and denied it all and blamed it on his drinking knew. No longer could he tell me that he didn't remember and get away with it. I would try to talk to him and plea with him to stop drinking and go to church with me and live right. For so long I lived with this exhibiting the fruit of the spirit. I remained calm and loving and kind and patient and just knew I could love him out of it but now I knew that he knew. He wanted to do these things and say the things that he said. He never recanted. He never apologized. He never showed any remorse for doing and saying such horrible things to me and tearing me down. This wasn't something that I could love him out of. Only Jehovah could change his heart.

Jesus Christ Freed Us From Sin

Verse:  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which (who live in union) are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:2 So often after people get saved they feel as though they come up short. Living a life free from sin is impossible. Only one man ever did it and that was Jesus Christ. But there is good news. We who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior and live in union with him are no longer condemned. Because in our mind we choose to serve God we are set free from the law of sin and death. Trying to live without sin is overwhelming. We are made of flesh and spirit. There is a war going on between our flesh and spirit. We overcome the urge to sin by bringing our mind back to Christ, praying, studying the Bible, meditating on a verse, listening to Christian music, etc. But sometimes that is not enough. At times we will sin. It is important to not dwell on the sin. If you dwell on your mistake it will weaken your spirit. Instead dwell on the fact that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free from the law of sin and death.  One of Jesus Christ disciples and one of the best apostles who ever lived explained the war between the flesh and the spirit as follows: For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent (agree) unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no (not really me) more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth (lives) in me.  For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched (miserable) man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which (who live in union) are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity (opposed) against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye (you) are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 7:14 - Romans 8:10

How Do I Get Saved?

Verse:  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:24 (KJV) Salvation is a gift that we receive by having faith in God. Because of God's merciful and loving-kindness he graciously set us free from sin. God made Jesus who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we might be made the righteousness of God. Jesus fulfilled the law so that we may live under the period of grace and have everlasting life. The only thing necessary for us to do to attain salvation is for us to believe in our heart and confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and that God raised him from the dead.  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:8-13 But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

We Don't

We don't try to live right with the standards that Jesus set to be superior over others, but to be humble and to love others with a Christlike love. We don't serve a church or denomination because we are people pleasers, but because we are active members of a church and care about our brothers and sisters in Christ and are doing our part in the church and the body of Christ using the gifts and talents that God has given to each of us. We aren't in a cult because we spend much of our free time worshiping God and helping others and witnessing to others, but we are ambassadors for Christ and when non-believers see our Christlike love they realize that God is real and he is  love. God loves us unconditionally. He doesn't expect us to be perfect. His grace covers our imperfections. And yes bad things happen to people who love and serve God, Jesus said they would,  but he never leaves us nor forsakes us and one day we will spend eternity with a new body that never gets tired or sick; happy, peaceful, worshipping and praising God.  I can not imagine anyone who was persecuted in Christ saying that he would go back and live for himself to have an easier and longer life. I can't imagine a child of God who has died whether young or old who would come back and live for himself and deny God even if it meant a longer life. To live is Christ. To die is gain. Don't judge me for living for Christ, because he died for me. Don't condemn me for making mistakes and doing or saying the wrong thing, because God loves me in all my imperfections and has clothed me in righteousness and I can ask for forgiveness and strength because I am given both. Try not to allow the whole 'bad things happen to good people or people turn their back on you or you have made too many mistakes or will never be good enough' to come between you and living with a healthy relationship with God and your brothers and sisters in Christ and cheat you out of the  anointing of the holy spirit. Christians are human and Satan tries real hard to break us and tear us down and the largest part of the spiritual battle is in an individuals mind where Satan attacks with thoughts of worry, fear, condemnation, guilt and so much more. Being a part of the body of Christ, and being a member of a church gives  you  extra protection and someone to edify you with the word of God  and so much more. GOD LOVES  AND SO  I.

Jigsaw Puzzle

Life is like a jigsaw puzzle
Each moment is a piece.
Some are filled with laughter
Others filled with grief.

We can only see glimpses of what
Was and what we think will be
Would you rather trust God
Or fuss over a little piece

God can see our entire life
From beginning until end
Enjoy all the good parts
Give all the bad to him.

He is more capable than we
To fit the pieces together
We only see little glimpses
But he sees the whole picture.

The Christian Life=Trust and Obey

Entrust to God the things you have no control over. Be careful to obey God's commands. You are responsible for what God has called you to do that you can not pass on to someone else.

We read in Romans 12:14-21 a clear example of the trust and obey lifestyle. Romans  12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.  12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.  12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.  12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.  12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.  12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.  12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.  12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

V.14 bless those who persecute you
V.15 be tender and compassionate
V.16 commit to living in harmony
V.16 do not be proud
V.19 as much as you can, live in peace with everyone
V.20 meet your enemies need
V.21 overcome evil with good

It can be hard to act like this when someone is purposely hurting you, using you, talking about you and mistreating you. But these are the commands that God has given us. When we fail to obey these commands and entrust to God the person and circumstances that we are struggling with we open the door for this person to cause us even more problems. Whereas, if we had continued in our faith God could use our Christ- like behavior to draw that person closer to Him.

You Can Change

I can look back over the years and see where illnesses and my attitude toward these illnesses has changed my character for the better. I have lost quite a few character flaws and wonder if I would have experienced all that growth if I hadn't had any illnesses. Chances are without the struggle I might still be out of fellowship with Jehovah only worse, with no thought of Him or where I would spend eternity.

I put the father of my children, my stubborn pride and independence ahead of God. I was unbendable and unmovable, set in my ways because I allowed my circumstances and my obsession with making things, my life, the way I thought I wanted it to be my focus. I found out that I was wrong on all accounts because I wasn't putting God first or basing my decisions on his word. What had been hardness and determination  turned into a chic with a really bad attitude who had some really bad habits like smoking cigarettes instead of eating, drinking sundrop like it was water, being anxious about everything, unable to get any decent sleep due to worrying, and drinking alcoholic beverages. I ended up on the side of the road after work one day, blind to the point I couldn't see beyond the hood of my car. Someone had to come get me and drive me home. Self abuse or lack of taking proper care of yourself mentally, physically,  spiritually and emotionally ends in disaster especially if your thought patterns, thinking, is toxic. You are what you think.

That episode was just the beginning of years of illnesses and disease. I praise my heavenly father today for the diseases and illnesses that I have been healed from and the ones that I have overcome with his help. I am a better woman, a better person, a whole lot closer to God and putting him first, dependent on God for all things, and sharing my story and his love and his holy word, the bible, with others. He is my everything and everyone to me. Jesus is the way,  the truth,  and the life and following him you will find your way, know the truth, and have everlasting life  where there is no pain,  no sickness and no sorrow.

John  14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Revelation  21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

How To Have a Relationship That Last

So often we try to fill our hearts and lives with people that we think will be good to us and treat us good. We try to hang on to people that we think will fulfill us and make us happy. We depend on people for everything from love to paying the rent. People come and go. They live with us. They leave us. They hurt us. They use us. They trade up and trade in. They pass away from this world and are never seen again. They lie to us, cheat us and bullshit us but none of that matters. You are probably asking how can I say that. I can say that because I have a relationship with the only one who really matters.

Yes we love our spouse, our better half, our child, our grandchild, our mother and our dad. And we want to give them the world and love them with all we have. But they don't fulfill us. They aren't who we are. They can not make us happy. They can not complete us. They can not make us feel fulfilled. There is only one relationship that we can have that will complete us, make us feel fulfilled, give us peace and fill us with joy and that is a relationship with our creator. You're probably wondering how do you have a real relationship with someone you can't see or touch or hold or smell or call on the phone or text or email.

Well you can do all of those things but in a different capacity than what you are used to. God Is Spirit. But he manifest himself in ways that we can see, smell, touch and hold. He is the creator of the heavens and the earth. All life comes from him. All blessings come from him. When you accept Jesus Christ (Hebrew name Yahusha MaHashyach) as your redeemer and believe in your heart that he paid for all your sins and confess with your mouth that he is your Lord and Savior you are saved, cleansed from all your sins, healed, and become a member of the body of Christ. And then ask God Almighty (Hebrew name Yahuah Elohim) to fill you with the holy spirit (Hebrew name Rauch Ha-Kodesh) you are born again of God's seed and filled with the holy spirit.

You can talk to God anytime and anywhere you want to. You can say it quietly to yourself or out loud. You can write him letters. You can sit in your favorite place and welcome him, give him praise and talk to him like He is the best friend you ever had because He is. He loves you just as you are. He knows everything about you and lovingly forgives you of every wrong you have ever done and washes it clean away. And he never remembers it. He will never remember or bring up or throw in your face anything that you have done wrong. When you get saved your sins are and always will be gone. He sees his child who has been cleansed and filled with his spirit.

Find an Assemblies of God or church who believes in the gospel of Jesus Christ and holy spirit and talk to the pastor or bishop there to make a connection with other believers. But most importantly talk to God every day and share your heart with him. Praise Him for the good things and pour your heart out to him about everything else. God Is no respecter of persons. He loves you and He always will and He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Holy Bible King James Version

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believers in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made into salvation.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: but I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

How to pray:
Dear Father,
I know I am a sinner. I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died for all my sins and was raised from the dead. I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. I invite you to come into my heart and my life. I ask you to fill me with your holy spirit. Amen.

Now get a Holy Bible of your own or download a kjv app from the app store and start reading the bible every day. If you don't understand something ask God to give you understanding and wisdom. God bless you.

What Is Your Calling

I have been thinking about Mary, the mother of Jesus this morning. Because of her heart, her character, her conscience and mind towards God,  she was the chosen vessel whose body would bring Jesus Christ into the world and she was entrusted to raise him. What is the seat of our conscience?  What great things can God do through us? If an angel of the Lord came to you and said do so and so what would you do? Would you doubt like Zachariah? Would you argue and try to hide like Jonah? Would you be gracious to trust like Joseph, Mary's betrothed? Or would you humble yourself like Saul? Angels may not speak to you and you may not hear God speak out loud with your ears but God speaks to your heart. We are ambassadors for Christ. We are to share and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have royal blood flowing through our veins. We are joint heirs with Christ who strengthens us. We are not strangers to God. We are his sons and daughters. Whatever you do today what will you do for Christ? What are you gifted with, what are your talents? What is in your heart? What is the desire of your heart to do for God,  your dream? Who will you tell about Christ?  Will people see Christ in you through your actions and attitude? He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid to step out and step up to what God has called you to do. God bless you and may the holy spirit teach you, lead you and guide you in Jesus name. Amen.

Dedicate Your Children To The Lord

When each one of my children were born I praised God for blessing me with a child then I dedicated that child to God and then I took that child to my pastor and he dedicated my child to the Lord and blessed my child. I dedicated each child to God and taught my children as much of the word as I could. If you love your child(ren) then honor God by discipling your child, taking him or her to church and teaching the Holy Bible at home. Put a song in your child's heart, faith that God will never leave him nor forsake him because he will never leave your child nor forsake your child. Equip your child for the future with God's word, the Holy Bible.

Proverbs 22:6 Raise up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:1-4 Children , obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour your father and mother; ( which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth. And, you fathers, provoke not your children to anger; but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Admonition = calling attention to, mild rebuke or warning.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for he said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.

The Truth About Marriage

When people get married they mistakenly understand the scripture that 'two shall become as one' to mean that the couple should become as one more like him or more like her. God has created each one of us in his image and given each one of us talents. To become as one we would have to know what our God given talents are and what our spouses God given talents are and combine those talents into one strong union between the couple. These two shall become as one in strength through Christ, in Gods purpose for us, our lives and our relationship.

www.gallupstrengthcenter.com

Your top five are the most important. You can not change your strengths or weaknesses but learn how to understand and develop your strengths. No other human being in the world is wired with the same strengths that you have. We are all unique. There are 34 in all with out top five being our strongest. This helps relationships become stronger and can help you understand yourself better and help you see yourself through Gods eyes and the strengths and talents he has given to you. #marriage

Why Point Fingers

Some people point fingers at Christians and degrade them and call them hypocrites when they sin because they do not realize three things. 1. Christians are saved by grace not by works. Salvation is a gift. 2. Most Christians do not realize that when you let sin in your life you give Satan a foothold to tear you down. It is better to stop sin at the window of your heart then to let Satan in. 3. Christians are in spiritual warfare. Life distracts people from their true purpose when they put people and things ahead of God.  Christians have to read and study the book of life and learn how to apply it to their life. People are cleansed and forgiven and become heirs, joint-heirs to Christ by simply believing and having faith. Learning to change old thinking patterns, learning the bible and how to live a Christ filled life and learning how to put on the mind of Christ after years of being themselves isn't easy. It doesn't happen over night. Finding a church family and a Christian mentor at your church, going to church faithfully, reading and studying the bible, leaving your old friends behind who do not share your faith; and filling your life with godly things like Christian music, helping others and your community through your church are necessary. Next time you want to make fun of a Christian for not being perfect according to your standards remember that he/she has a God in heaven that loves them just the way they are. Christ gave his life for them and you. I am proud to be a child of God and I owe him my life for giving his for me. If you are a new Christian and struggling the fruit of the Spirit can be yours. Give your heart and worries wholly to God and trust him and trust in his unconditional love.
